This pandemic has allowed us to become our own bartenders. And that means over serving regularly. While bars and breweries are still on hold due to CDC regulations, Preez Distillery & Tasting Room was able to make its debut 10550 72nd St. N. #503 in Largo.

CL connected with Preez founders, Ramon Perez and Teresa Logan to get a little background on the new kid on the block.

The veteran couple, Perez (retired Army) and Teresa Logan (retired Air Force) are currently serving two basic vodkas—filtered and unfiltered—along with vanilla vodka and more flavors and seasonal offerings on the way. Preez is set to release a blueberry vodka on the near horizon, as well as a fresh gala apple liqueur to be followed by an apricot liqueur.

Perez was introduced to making craft vodka while stationed in Alaska. After his retirement several years ago, he turned his hobby into a small business. Logan discovered the art of making fruit liqueurs with Perez’s craft vodka after they met. Now the tag team is finding ways to create and develop flavors locals can sip and purchase by the bottle.

If guests take a trip to the tasting room, they can sign the visitor’s book before being introduced to signature pours while learning the subtleties of each vodka through appearance, smell, and flavor. Tastings are complimentary, bottles will be available for purchase, and facility tours will be available daily..

“We have ample space for social distancing. We enjoy meeting locals but understand that people may not be comfortable with a long visit. We are able to provide contactless pick up, and once legal age is verified, we are able to provide complimentary delivery services within a 15 mile radius,” replied the couple in a message to CL.

When it comes to future plans for Preez, the duo already has their sights on expansion.

“We would like to keep the current location as a tasting room with expansion later to another location for a vodka bar, as well as supplying local establishments with custom handcrafted vodkas.”

"Preez will be able to host groups up to 14, and is currently taking tour drop-ins during operating hours. The distillery is operating from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and noon-8 p.m. Friday and Saturday. As of right now, the distillery is alternating weekends by appointment only due to family commitments.
