San Antonio is located in a beautiful, hilly region of south-central Texas. This expanding city is home of the Alamo, San Antonio Spurs, Sea World, Six Flags, military men, cowboy hats and Tex-Mex everything, including margarita and michelada cocktails.
Of course, everyone (especially tequila fans) is familiar with margaritas. But you may not have heard of micheladas. This "cerveza preparada" originated in Mexico and is enjoyed throughout San Antonio. It’s served in a salt-rimmed glass, like margaritas, and the ingredients are quite distinctive. Most michelada recipes include beer, tomato juice, Worcestershire and Tabasco sauces and lime juice, but may vary among the regions of Texas and Mexico. Think Bloody Mary with beer.
