St. Petersburg received a new Asian fusion restaurant earlier this week through the premiere of Souzou, and now, Seminole Heights will get its own fresh Asian-inspired food concept when Chop Chop Shop opens 6 p.m. Saturday.
At 6605 N. Florida Ave., in Old Man Brown Backyard BBQ's former home next to the old Stephanno's Pizza, the "quick-serve craft kitchen" will highlight eats with Asian influence and house-made ingredients like sauces, pickles and kimchi.
During Saturday's grand opening, guests will score $1 off any entree or platter, or a free drink with every meal. Items like burger and sandwich plates, noodle bowls and Asian sodas will be offered.
The spot plans to carry beer and wine down the road.
