At last, St. Pete Pride — in all of its jubilant, diverse glory — has arrived.
St. Petersburgers will descend upon their streets to observe 16 years of Pride in the Sunshine City from Friday to Sunday (though they’ve been prepping for the high-energy celebration with pre-Pride events since early June), and the same goes for locals based on the other side of the bay.
Datz and Dough, for starters, don’t call St. Pete home. But similar to how distance won’t stop residents who live outside of the St. Pete area from attending Pride, the South Tampa restaurant and bakery siblings are also getting in the spirit, despite their zip code, with themed desserts: a rainbow cake (above) and a rainbow cupcake (to the right).
Featuring vanilla cake and sweet buttercream, both celebratory treats are available at Dough and Datz through the end of the month — no matter which place you patronize — so why not scoop the goods on your way to this weekend’s fabulous festivities?
After all, that cupcake is about as portable as it gets. Just sayin’.
Happy Pride!
