There have long been talks about improving the area around University Mall and it looks like some plans are in motion. To give residents and college students healthier food options, a new Sprouts Farmers Market is opening at the soon-to-be Rithm@Uptown (stylized "RITHM"), a multi-story, mixed-use neighborhood development.
A press release says the retail portion of the 100-acre Rithm project will include the 23,256-square-foot grocery store plus over 25,000 square-feet of open space with dining capabilities for prospective tenants.
The news of a University area Sprouts comes days after Tampa Heights’ new Sprouts opened near Armature Works.
“Today isn’t just about welcoming a great green grocery and a highly successful, value-based, department store to RITHM@Uptown – it’s about celebrating the fact that a lot of great things are starting to happen here in Uptown...The best attributes of our urban community are coming to light," Christopher M. Bowen, Chief Development Strategist at RD Management, wrote.
No word yet on the opening of Uptown District’s new Sprouts Farmers Market but there are locations in Carrollwood and that new one in Tampa Heights to hold you over until then.
