Buya Ramen has created a Japanese whisky. The community is invited to taste the artistic collaboration between Buya owner Michael Sponaugle, Kaiyō Whisky Master Blender Jeffrey Karlovitch and French artist Geff Strik from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 18 — when the St. Petersburg eatery hosts a bottle launch for The Būya.
Blended in Osaka, The Būya is an eight-year whisky aged in mizunara oak casks, Kaiyō's go-to wood selection for whisky maturation.
"Driven by a passion for canvas, spirit and food, these artists have fashioned an experience that touches all of the senses, reflecting balance and harmony," according to the bottle launch's Facebook event page.
