St. Petersburg's Community Café, which has been hosting its infamous ‘Drag Queen Story Hour’ and dishing out fresh vegetarian entrees for the last six years, is celebrating its forced move next weekend.
The moving party is set to take place next weekend, December 28 and 29, and is set to be chock full of raffle prizes, food and drink discounts and local live music.
Saturday’s lineup includes singer-songwriters Jennifer Real, Jeremy Gloff, Terrapin, Delaran and Mave’s Arcade, running from 3 p.m to 9 p.m. Sunday’s festivities run from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m., with DJ sets from DJ Kiger, Lo-fi Luke and Junk!
This weekend’s party will be the downtown staple’s last days open at its current spot on Central Avenue. “Home is where the community is, say goodbye to this home as we move onto something better” the Community Café Moving On Party poster reads.
Community Café will reopen in its new space in early 2020, although the exact location and opening date has yet to be determined.
