St. Petersburg’s Noble Crust location announced it would temporarily close its doors after an employee tested positive for COVID-19.

The restaurant made the announcement in a Wednesday afternoon Facebook post, stating that the employee showed no symptoms or signs. The entire staff is also now getting tested.

“This morning we learned that one of our staff members at our St. Pete location has tested positive for Covid-19,” said the post. “We are making the immediate decision to temporarily close our St. Pete location.”

The restaurant says it will use the closure to have the location professionally sanitized and deep cleaned.

“We are grateful that our incredible team has been taking all precautions seriously. We will continue to follow all CDC guidelines at our restaurants including social distancing, temperature checks of each employee, proper wearing of masks and gloves, and continuous sanitation of all surfaces,” continued the post.

Noble Crust is just the most recent local establishment to deal with recent uptick in coronavirus cases. This morning, Tampa Bay Brewing Co. announced that two employees tested positive for COVID-19 at two different locations. Meat Market in South Tampa also announced that an employee tested positive for COVID-10 on June 8. And, Jannus Live posted yesterday that it is closing three nearby bars due to a recent coronavirus case.

Meanwhile, Hawkers in St. Pete decided to just preemptively closed out of precaution.

Just yesterday, Florida witnessed a record-setting single-day increase in new COVID-19 cases. In response, St. Petersburg Mayor Rick Kriseman announced this afternoon that all employees at all St. Pete businesses must begin wearing face masks starting Friday, June 19. He also announced that the City of St. Pete has canceled its upcoming July 4 fireworks display.
