Known for its iconic square hamburgers, the Tennessee-founded Krystal Company is offering a tasty limited-time deal this summer. Starting as early as, well, now, Krystal locations in Tampa and Orlando are giving out free ICEEs to children ages 12 and under. The South’s oldest quick-serve restaurant chain, started in 1932, aims to facilitate more outdoor activity among children through the offer. “We support kids playing outside and being active,” says Alice Crowder, vice president of marketing for Krystal. “By offering a great cool-down treat we hope to encourage outdoor play.” With no purchase required, the deal runs throughout the entirety of summer and while supplies last, so go for a jaunt outside with the kids — ICEE in tow. Krystal operates three restaurants locally in Tampa and Plant City.
