Jen's Market, which manages three local goods-fueled gatherings in Largo, Apollo Beach and Lakewood Ranch, is the latest Bay area farmers' market to update its hours to combat the summer heat.
Running June to September, the Apollo Beach Market, headquartered in the Waterside Shops plaza a block south of Apollo Beach Boulevard, will operate from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. each second Sunday of the month. Honey, produce and other fresh eats will be showcased.
In Pinellas, the Largo Central Park Market will be open 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. every first and third Saturday with highlights like a bounce house and farm-fresh eggs starting Saturday, June 20. The market, which also accepts Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) cards, debuted in its new shady Central Park location between the Largo Cultural Center and parking lot No. 1 this past weekend.
From 8 a.m. to noon every fourth Saturday, the Main Street at Lakewood Ranch venue's Main Street Market will run June through September at 8100 Lakewood Ranch Blvd. Anna's Seafood, featuring items like black grouper and shrimp, will be among the June vendors, and more are being added each month.
