After nearly three decades, Tampa Bay Brewing Co. is leaving Ybor City.
Over the weekend, owner Dave Doble posted a video to social media announcing the upcoming closure of the breweryโs Centro Ybor location, at 1600 E 8th Ave.
โI know thereโs probably a lot of questions, and if you find me at one of our locations I can talk. But I want to extend our deepest gratitude to our employees, customers and obviously this entire community for years of support,โ said Doble in the post. โWe are truly grateful for your patronage and look forward to writing new chapters as we move forward.โ
Doble did not go into detail explaining what led to the decision, but stated that the Ybor locationโs last day will be Sunday, May 31.
โItโs not the best news, but itโs also not terrible news either. It’s just time to turn that page,โ he continued.
TBBC has called Ybor home since 1997, opening its first location on 15th street and later moving to its current Centro Ybor home in 2006. The company opened its second location in Westchase in June of 2015.
The Centro Ybor outpost was a popular and consistent favorite for years, offering a solid lunch and dinner menu, a massive outdoor patio, plus live music and a hearty draft beer selection. Notably, the spot was featured on Guy Fieriโs โDiners, Drive-Ins and Divesโ in March 2011 when he went in on the hot wings tossed in cider sauce made with TBBC’s Red Eye Amber ale.
