Early Saturday, head chef Aaron Davis of downtown St. Peteโ€™s The Kitchen was killed by a drunk driver while crossing Second Street North at Central Avenue with his co-worker Brian LaFrance, who the driver also struck and injured.

In honor of the fallen chef and his family โ€” which includes his wife Ana, executive chef at 400 Beach Seafood & Tap House, young daughter and their second child on the way โ€” a GoFundMe was createdย โ€œto help [them] with any upcoming financial needs,โ€ according to the campaign site.

The page raised more than $20,000 as of about 2 p.m. Monday, and 400 Beach also set up a separate donation fund for the Davis family.

Aaronโ€™s funeral service will be held at 3 p.m. Wednesday at St. Peteโ€™s Anderson-McQueen Funeral Home.
