According to a Tampa Beer Works Facebook post, the bar has acquired its 509 Restaurant License, allowing it to once again open its tasting room and serve drinks on site. Tampa Beer Works will be open from 2 to 10 p.m. today. The brewery is located at 333 N. Falkenburg Rd no. 407.
In June, Florida suspended any alcohol consumption at bars statewide in response to rising COVID-19 cases. The executive order, however, allowed establishments to continue serving booze if 50% or less of gross revenue is derived from the sale of on-site alcohol. Those deriving more than 50% of gross sales from alcohol were ordered to shut down on-site consumption.
Many relied on restaurant licenses to continue operating on site, while bars and breweries could sell only pre-packaged alcohol.
