The James Beard Foundation Awards recognized Bern's for its wine program in 2016.

An illustrious abode has invited a celebrated Tampa restaurant empire to cook in its legendary kitchen. On Wednesday, Feb. 20, Bern's Steak House and Hyde Park siblings Élevage and Haven will whip up a multicourse wine dinner at New York City's James Beard House.

What a pairing.

The Bern's empire previously visited the historic Beard House in February 2014 and March 2015, making this latest invitation its third.

"It's always an honor to be invited to the James Beard House," said Bern's owner David Laxer in a statement. "To return for a third time is remarkable and we are thrilled to create a memorable evening in such a special place."

Chef Chad Johnson of Haven and the Epicurean Hotel's Élevage plans to prepare dishes like black cod, dry-aged beef chateaubriand and rabbit porchetta alongside fellow chefs Jonathan Atanacio (Élevage), Habteab Hamde (Bern's) and Courtney Orwig (Haven).

Bern's sommelier Gregory Mayer will complement the menu with a curated selection of wines.

Tickets to the dinner, which ain't cheap at $220 per person, are for sale online.
