Have no fear, the building won't be empty for long thanks to restaurateur giant Dave Burton. You know, the guy who has brought up GenX Tavern, Flock and Stock, Holy Hog Barbecue and The Getaway?
According to a recent interview with TBBJ, Burton plans on opening the third location of Tampa Pizza Co. at the former GUAC location.
After he paints over the Lucha Libre mask murals and other Mex-centric art, Burton will transform the space into a family-friendly pizza joint with a full liquor bar, pies, and dishes including pasta, salad, and various bowls. Wine will be a staple on the menu, and the kitchen will also be catering to those who live the gluten-free and vegan life.
We should be expecting the doors to open by October at the latest. Which means new carbs to feast on just in time for fall.
