Tampa’s Cigar City ranked among ‘50 Best American Breweries’ of the last decade

Hey Tampa, be proud and have a Jai Alai in honor of Cigar City making Paste Magazine’s list of the best breweries in America in the last decade. 

The Westshore-bound brewery came in at 20 on the publication’s “50 Best American Breweries of the 2010s.”

“The steady national expansion of the beloved Florida brand has generated eye-popping sales figures, which have been all the more impressive given the industry-wide slowdown, and helped keep the overall CANarchy portfolio looking very healthy indeed,” said the post. “Much of this growth has been driven by a national embrace of the brand’s classic Jai Alai IPA, as the beer finds its way into far more hands than ever before, along with the launching of rising new brands like Guayabera pale ale.”

The list had Jai Alai, Guayabera, and Hunahpu’s as their favorite beers from the brewery. Cigar City didn’t make their 2009 edition of this same list. 

Cigar City was the only Tampa brewery on the list, and the highest Florida-ranked brewery, with Funky Buddha from Oakland Park coming in at 44.
