Tampa’s iconic Bo’s Ice Cream, located at 7101 N Florida Ave. in Old Seminole Heights, is temporarily closed due to a tragedy in the family.
UPDATE: Tampa’s iconic Bo’s ice cream reopened on Aug. 16, and the employees could use a little help
An update from the multiple Best of the Bay-winning stand says the location “will be closed for the foreseeable future due to a tragedy in the Bo’s family. Please bear with us while we get through this difficult time.”
An updated Google listing, has Bo’s closed until Monday, Aug. 16, and owner Josh Vitte told Creative Loafing Tampa Bay that he’s going through a lot right now and unable to provide details on a reopening date, but wanted loyal Bo’s followers to just think about the employees.
“They can’t go that long without a paycheck,” Vitte said.
Those employees are some of the hardest-working, kind kids in the Bay area service industry. Just go to Bo’s on any weekend night and watch them bust through the out-of-this-world lines that extend from the drive through and dine-in service window.
