The 10th Annual Oktoberfest Tampa is upon us. Traditional German styles will flow from the taps and so will signature Oktoberfest Tampa brews from Veza Sur and Victory who brewed a dunkel and hefeweizen, respectively, for the three-day event. Prepare for Bavarian games like tug-o-war, the classic stein host and other activities that put your brawn to the test. There’s a beard and mustache competition, and revelers can vote for the winner of Mr. & Mrs. Oktoberfest.

Just a heads up, active and retired members of the armed forces and first responders of the City of Tampa get free admission along with their spouse if they show their ID at the entry gate the day of the event. Go party with the crew that originally brought Oktoberfest to downtown a decade ago (the first Oktoberfest was at an undeveloped Water Works Park before anyone thought it was attractive).

Fri. Oct. 11-Sun. Oct. 13. 4 p.m.-11 p.m. (Fri.); 11 a.m.-11 p.m. (Sat.); 11 a.m.-6 p.m. (Sun.) Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park, 600 N. Ashley Dr., Tampa. $10 & up p.m. oktoberfesttampa.com.
