The Green Bottle isn’t the latest superhero character from DC Comics. It is, however, the beloved farmhouse ale tradition that brewers around the country — including Saint Somewhere Brewing Company in Tarpon Springs — are gearing up to collaboratively celebrate this weekend.

Last year, Oklahoma’s Heirloom Rustic Ales hosted the inaugural Green Bottle Awareness Day to express its love for the green glass-packaged Old Word beers of southern Belgium and northern France. But this time around, Saint Somewhere is getting in on the fun alongside Heirloom — plus South Carolina’s Birds Fly South Ale Project, Nashville’s Yazoo Brewing Company, Pennsylvania’s Forest & Main and another Florida beer maker, Longwood’s Hourglass Brewing.

Saint Somewhere is scheduled to observe Green Bottle Awareness Day from noon to 11 p.m. Saturday. The brewery’s funky celebration takes place inside its tasting room, Brasserie.

Grab some friends, down a few bottles and get ready to become, as Saint Somewhere puts it, “green glass believers.” If y’all aren’t already.
