Last month cheese enthusiasts united at the annual American Cheese Society Show in Montreal to pick the best cheeses from 2011. Whether a cheesemaker, restaurateur, food writer or cheesemonger, this conference provides a forum for tasting, talking, learning and bonding with fellow cheese lovers.
This year’s list of entries of cheeses from all over the Americas totaled 1, 676 selections. The categories for potential winners proved just as long and diverse (for a full list of winners visit www.cheesesociety.org). The top four winners are listed below.
