The Career Cafe doesn’t plan to serve up your average menu next month. Instead, this “cafe” — which is really a free workshop from the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida that began locally as a Girl Scout Gold Award project in 2017 — prepares young women in high school and college with essential job-hunting skills.

Open 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. May 12 at Tampa’s Kaizen Collaborative, the Career Cafe takes participants through their dream job search from start to finish. Interview dos and don’ts, résumé writing, networking and personal branding are among the topics, alongside mock interviews.

A continental breakfast and light lunch are included with registration (complete the form online), as is a tote bag full of giveaways.

Transportation to the second annual workshop is available, too. Chamberlain High School, for example, can serve as a pick-up or drop-off location the day of. Shoot an email over to Clara Moll, vice president of membership innovation for the Girl Scouts of West Central Florida, with any questions: cmoll@gswcf.org.
