Since launching in August, the Instagram feed for Sparkman Wharf's Detroit-style pizza kiosk has been a saucy, cheesy, crispy-crusted, pepperoni, mushroom and kale daydream. Well, you can stop licking your screens now because The Corners has announced a November 6 pop-up at Hooch and Hive near the University of Tampa.
The event kicks off at 7 p.m. (just after polls close on the midterm election) and goes until midnight.
Details on the special menu have yet to be announced, but there will be a vegan option to go along with what we hope are tastes of The Corners' White Square Pie (roasted mushrooms, kale) and Red Square Pie (pepperoni).
MOTOR CITY SPARK
Eighth addition to Tampa's Sparkman Wharf is a "secret passion project"
For the uninitiated, Detroit-style square pies are traditionally made in blue steel square pans that were meant to hold small parts in factories. Another defining characteristic of Detroit-style pizza is the crust, which is thick and airy with crispy, cheesy edges.
The Corners is the eighth addition to Sparkman Wharf’s downtown Tampa dining garden, where 10 eateries will finally open to the public on November 30.
