The Education Channel is teaming up with Whole Foods Market and Slow Foods Tampa Bay to host dinner and a food themed movie this Friday, July 23.

They will be showing the film Fresh which "…celebrates the farmers, thinkers and businesses reinventing our current food system. Each has witnessed the rapid transformation of our agriculture into an industrial model, and confronted the consequences: food contamination, environmental pollution, depletion of natural resources, and morbid obesity," writes The Education Channel. EcoSalon.com said of the film, "If Food Inc. was your wake up call, Fresh, the Movie is your call to action. Fresh's strength is that it shows the incredible creativity of individuals who are devoting their lives to producing food differently."

After the film, there will be a discussion with Pamela Sindlinger from Gateway Organic Farm, Mary Lou Janson and Chef Cathleen Ryan with Tampa Bay Slow Foods, and Sherell White of Whole Foods Market on healthy eating and sustainable living.
