
Free food and live performances are set for the anniversary of one area restaurant this week, alongside the grand openings of two others.
The Brandon restaurant for Baja-style taco chain Fuzzy's Taco Shop is celebrating its first year in business with taco giveaways — presented to the first guest and diners No. 101, 201 and 301 — starting at 11 a.m. Thursday. Locals will enjoy $1 food and drink specials on rocks margaritas, 12-ounce Bud Light drafts, chips and queso, and chips and salsa while jamming to tunes by Almost Alice between 6:30 and 10:30 p.m.
Uncle Maddio's Pizza plans to commemorate its grand opening in St. Petersburg with complimentary 9-inch, three-topping pizzas. To redeem a pie, customers need to claim theirs online, sooner rather than later — 1,500 are available. The growing build-your-own pizza franchise's dine-in-only freebie is valid 11 a.m. Friday through 2 p.m. Saturday.
Inside the new Wyndham Grand Clearwater Beach, Ocean Hai's grand opening, kicking off at 6 p.m. Friday, invites diners to enjoy a special performance from Selwyn Birchwood Band. The high-end Asian-American fusion restaurant serves up sushi and sashimi platters, as well as noodles, rice, and meat and poultry dishes, from its internationally known executive chef Claude Rodie.
