This week on Top Chef: D.C., there are more politicians than you can shake a stick at (most of whom I have never heard of). Hey, at least they're utilizing local talent, right?
For the Quickfire, the chef'testants have to create an hors d'oeuvre on a toothpick that "packs the punch of a full meal". It is a bit cheesy but at least they're not having to create dishes inspired by Lincoln's assassination at Ford's Theatre or cook for the Real Housewives of D.C. (though both of those would have more to do with D.C. than this challenge). I think I've found my Top Chef crush, at least for this episode, when Congressman/professional hottie Aaron Schock of Illinois serves as the guest judge for the Quickfire.
By the looks of the preview video below, I have no clue what the Elimination Challenge is other than having to cook for a bunch of politicians and White House news correspondents at The Palm — which can't be that elite or fancy because we have one here in Tampa as well. The preview also says that Art Smith, Oprah name dropper and Top Chef Masters season one contestant, is the guest judge for this challenge, but I cannot believe this. Who is this skinny man and what have you done with my Huggybear?!
Check out the preview videos below.
