After watching the preview videos of tonight's challenges on Top Chef, it looks like it's going to be another week of "Who got high and came up with this?"
First up: Baby food Quickfire Challenge. WTF?! I'm guessing the producers were munching on Fun-yuns post-hot box party and thought, "Padma and Tom both have babies so let's have the chefs make baby food!" Since when are we tying in the personal lives of the judges as inspiration for the challenges on this show and since when does baby food actually have to taste good?
We also get in on some of the chefs' personal dirt. Shaft (Kenny) pulls on our heartstrings by revealing he was a widower and single father (but you know he's such a stud that he got promptly got himself a second Mrs. Shaft). Keebler (Stephen) may have an advantage on this challenge because he has twin baby girls (and they're adorable). Angelo was nowhere to be found in the preview videos (below) — probably because he's still off crying in that bush like he was doing last week.
For the Elimination Challenge, the chef'testants must cook a versatile dish that could be served for breakfast, lunch and dinner that would appeal to global travelers. We also got a sneak peek at this week's episode and it looks like it may be a blast from the past when it comes to the guest judges. (I swear I saw Jersey Mike from last season.)
