During last night's episode of Top Chef: D.C., baseball and idiots idioms were the challenge themes and Top Chef Masters' contestant Rick Moonen popped by to play guest judge.
It was idioms (not adages — my bad) that served as inspiration for the Quickfire dishes. I was saddened by the fact that no one chose "hide the salami". But it was Padma's questionable choice in clothing (tube top onesie/romper/dress) that served as a distraction from this less-than-stellar challenge. Ed's potato gnocchi took the prize as being the next Swanson's Top Chef frozen meal. I'll also now be calling Ed "Potato Head" because Angelo was right — his head does look somewhat spud-like.
