In the latest installment of Top Chef: D.C., we actually got to see somewhat normal challenges (except for the crab slaughtering part).

The Quickfire Challenge saw the chef'testants chasing after live blue crabs and finding creative ways to massacre them for the judges' discerning palates. We here with the Top Chef Podcast, as much as we like to push the envelope, even had a problem with some of the methods used to kill the crabs. Being very passionate about this issue, we've decided to create a non-profit group to create awareness on the humane methods of ending crabs' little crustacean lives. (Keep an eye out for the t-shirts.)

For the Elimination Challenge, the chefs had to work on one team to cook on a farm for 40 farmers and chefs, bitching and arguing their way to culinary mediocrity, thus making for a very forgettable challenge.

In a nutshell: Angelo is trying to brainwash and seduce Tamesha, Ed has the hots for Obama City (Tiffany), and everyone wants to get with Shaft (Kenny). There was a lot of tension — including that of a sexual nature — in the household.
