On Sunday, a morning tour — by bike — allows Preserve the 'Burg and the Coast Bike Share crew to collaboratively celebrate May as National Bike Month and National Historic Preservation Month.

Starting in the EDGE District at the Independent Bar, Bikes and Beignets leisurely cruises south to St. Pete's Deuces (aka 22nd Street South), a corridor with a rich cultural heritage where historic sites abound — including the iconic Manhattan Casino and Royal Theater.

The place that puts the "beignets" in Bikes and Beignets is Chief's Creole Cafe; the tour's stop for those deliciously dusted squares of fried dough and coffee is housed in a landmark building itself.

Get tickets online, and there is special membership pricing for Preserve the 'Burg members. Helmets, BTW, are recommended for all cyclists.
