St. Pete locals were shaken when the beloved Community Cafe was forced to shut its doors last November (the cafe now hosts weekend pop-ups in front of Allendale UMC), but now the address has new life and potentially more cavities.
Nearly a year later the space at 2444 Central Ave. will become home to Valkyrie Doughnuts. Known for its square-shaped doughnuts, Valkyrie offers a variety of eccentric flavors including cotton candy, caramel choc chip, strawberry lemonade, and passion fruit strawberry. All selections are egg-free and dairy-free—which means vegan, baby.
The shop confirmed in a message with CL that is currently in permitting stages and hopes to make its debut in “probably 10 weeks.”
Valkyrie is the sister concept of Valhalla Bakery, which expanded from Orlando to St. Pete. The vegan bakery shares space with fellow vegan restaurant Lucy’s at 2462 Central Ave.
More details to come as the permitting continues and the opening date approaches.
