The ultimate tease, a Publix market without Pub subs.

Publix Super Markets Inc. is launching a new GreenWise Market at 815 Water Street, which is set to open in 2021.

Tampa-based real estate development firm, Strategic Property Partners, LLC (SPP) announced that the lease for a 26,000-square-foot space on the ground floor of a dual-tower residential building has just been signed for the market.

"We are excited to bring a critical grocery anchor to downtown Tampa, which will be walkable for residents of Water Street Tampa and our neighboring communities," shared CEO of SPP, James Nozar, in a recent statement

Not only will there be no chicken tender subs on the premises, but there also won't be any Publix signage. Instead, the store will focus on gourmet pizzas, salads, and other fresh options made from organic and antibiotic-free ingredients.

GreenWise's emphasis is on health and wellness and once the new location is up and running it will be ready to fulfill the needs of over 23,000 residents and professionals in the Channel District every day.

Oddly enough, the GreenWise Market which is located in Hyde Park will be converting to a traditional Publix store in the coming weeks, according to an article by TBBJ. So that means, locals can either order a Pub sub to their door or take a quick scooter ride to get their fix.

Until then, be on the lookout for construction on the upcoming market which will make those who frequent or reside near Water Street Tampa a whole lot easier.
