Here's our usual roundup of toothsome food and drink events for the weekend, everything from craft beer and barbecue to a mermaid princess brunch. For additional ways to get down with F&D, namely with holidays like National Oyster Day and Mead Day, you can always peep our online event listings.

Summer is nearly over, but that doesn’t mean teachers can’t still some fun. On Friday, Brew Bus offers one free beer to teachers with valid ID throughout its Back to School event. The gathering runs from noon to midnight, which means educators have plenty of time to steal the deal. Free. 4101 N. Florida Ave., Tampa, 813-990-7310.

Chow down and help the community during Friday’s First Friday BBQ Bash at St. Pete Brewing Co. The craft brewery teams up with Deuces BBQ from 6 to 9 p.m. to raise money for the St. Petersburg Culinary Center. Guests enjoy pulled pork sandwiches, wings and sides. Proceeds from the barbecue sales benefit the culinary academy, as do $1 from every beer sold. Free, money for beer and food. 544 First Ave. N., St. Petersburg, 727-692-8808.

What’re you doing Saturday? Hang with fresh veggies and their urban farmers, Brick Street Farms, at the Open Saturday Market. From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., locals are welcome to check out the indoor, hydroponic “city farm” and scoop up herbs, kale and other greens. They’ll also learn about the Grand Central District operation’s new membership program. Free, money for food. 2001 Second Ave. S., St. Petersburg, 727-310-5775.

The Under the Sea Brunch & Tea, hosted at the Pieces of Treats bakery, invites guests to play pretend while sipping cups of warm goodness. Little ones and their parents partake in a mermaid princess-themed brunch from 12:30 to 1:30 p.m. Saturday, complete with dessert. Five special attendees (princesses, perhaps?) are set to attend as well. Tickets are available online. $25 per child and adult, $12.50 per person. 28929 U.S. Highway 19 N., Clearwater, 727-967-2226.

On Sunday, get sweaty and drink up with Barre at the Bar. Pure Barre Tampa is on-site at 81Bay Brewing Co. for a 55-minute workout, followed by draft specials starting at $2, $15 bottomless mimosas, and snacks supplied by Fitlife Foods. Registration starts at 10:30 a.m., and the class kicks off at 11. Free, money for drinks. 4465 W. Gandy Blvd., Tampa, 813-837-2739.
