Before you read this short review, please know that I am not drunk as I write this. Not even close. As in stone-cold sober.
I don't want you to see this as the gushy praise of the plastered.
So with that out of the way, lemme say that the 2008 Clos de los Siete is easily the best Argentinian wine I've ever tasted.
Sure, maybe I haven't had that many. But this is really great stuff. And for $19 a bottle, criminally cheap.
Produced collaboratively by seven wine makers from four grapes – Malbec, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah – this wine is so mouth-wateringly juicy, you'll drool more than a Bulldog with a fresh bone.
Bursting with flavors of raisins, prunes (in a good way, trust me) and cherries. Just the right amount of tannin to keep it all from being a flabby sack of fruit. In other words, great stuff. Did I mention I love this wine?!
