In its hometown of Tampa, World of Beer will open its first location with a fresh logo, interior design and "Tavern Fare" menu. The new tavern at 2815 E. Fowler Ave. is set to hold a grand opening at noon Sept. 28.

As three outdoor patios complement the 6,000-square-foot space, beer from around the globe (500-plus bottles and 40 revolving taps), signature cocktails, ciders and wine will also be offered.

Various comfort food items are listed on the food menu, including Bavarian pretzels, Guinness brat sliders and a burger with cheese that's made at Belgium's Chimay Brewery. Brew pairings are suggested for the eats, too: beer-battered apple rings go well with cider, while the veggie and hummus wrap should be enjoyed with a brown ale.

The Fowler World of Beer's opening event will showcase a ribbon cutting at 2 p.m., a firkin tapping from Cigar City Brewing and live music later in the evening.

Once launched, the tavern will operate noon to midnight Monday and Tuesday; noon to 1 a.m. Wednesday and Thursday; noon to 2 a.m. Friday and Saturday; and 11 a.m. to midnight Sunday. Lunch and dinner will be served daily, as Sunday brings a lineup of "BEERunch" offerings.
