West Tampa’s newest restaurant Burnz isn’t even open yet, and its name, or a picture of its sign, is already getting traction around the web.
“About to be many a romantic date night gone wrong” one Reddit user said after posting a picture of the fiery sign. If you’re new to Tampa, the joke is that one might be expecting to be going to the high end Bern’s Steakhouse, also located on Howard Avenue just two miles away.
Burnz—located at 1704 N Howard Ave., a past home of Piquant Bakery—is scheduled to open April 20, according to Google. (And yes, we see the significance of a 4/20 opening date).
According to the Old West Tampa restaurant’s website, Burnz “serves authentic Caribbean, Hispanic & American cuisine in [an] elevated setting. Our carefully crafted menu, refreshing cocktails, impeccable service, and elegant, yet cozy, atmosphere brings the best multicultural flavors to your dining experience where you can live life differently.”
So the joke might be on you, Redditt user. A date night at Burnz might be super delicious, and inexpensive enough to leave you with some rent money.
