On Tuesday, state data showed that Tampa Bay added 1,213 coronavirus cases and 49 deaths, while Hillsborough and Pinellas counties have positivity rates at 6% and 7%, respectively. And while 2 million Florida residents have been vaccinated, doctors worry the Super Bowl will only accelerate the spread of COVID-19 (including the new, highly-contagious U.K. Strain).
That’s enough to keep you at home, but the local live music scene is finding ways to try and stay on its feet. We’ve marked the gigs at venues that have joined a Tampa-based and city-recognized “Safe & Sound” initiative that pledges to strictly enforce limited capacity, mask wearing and social distancing—and tried our best to explain COVID-19 protocols at venues that not able to join Tampa’s “Safe & Sound” program.
