Bruce Hornsby is a musician’s musician. He’s not just the singer-pianist from ‘80s hits “Mandolin Rain” and that other song 2pac sampled (Pac’s “Changes” sampled Hornsby and the Range's "The Way It Is"). The 66-year-old played over 100 shows with jam gods Grateful Dead, plays bluegrass with Ricky Skaggs and had a year-long stint with one of the GOAT yacht rock bands: Ambrosia.
Hornsby hits the Capitol Theatre on Wednesday all by himself (the musician hasn’t been with the Range since the early ‘90s, if you’re wondering). Hornsby requires ticketholders to present a negative COVID-19 test result performed within 72 hours of arrival. Guests have the option of showing proof of vaccination in lieu of a test result. That’s just the way it is.
