There’s a new music production and photography studio in Seminole Heights (yes, Sponge Studios has a Cyclorama wall), and it’s opening its doors to the public for a month, starting on November 25.
The occasion?
A pop-up music shop curated by Gabe and Seth Davis (of Brother Cephus, which is one of Tampa’s best indie-rock bands) who’ve teamed up with Jacksonvilee’s Mockshop Music Exchange to supply Bay area musicians with all kinds of guitars, pedals, tube amps, and accessories.
“We wanted to fill a gap in the Tampa area by offering quality products from some boutique companyies. Options for everyone, from the beginner up to the full on gear nerd,” Seth Davis told CL in a message.
And if you’re good on gear (that’s laughable), there’s also a Commune + Co. espresso bar so you can just come and kick it in the new creative space.
“Teaming up with commune and co for an espresso bar was a no brainer and jack from mockshop has been a huge supporter for our music endeavors over the last few years. We simply couldn’t do this without both companies,” Seth added. “Our hope is by adding the elements of coffee and some local art people will feel comfortable to come and hang. This also gives us a chance to invite people to come and see what we’ve been building with sponge studios (a music production and photography studio) available for rent.”
Opens Nov. 25 (runs through Dec. 31). 5010 N. Nebraska Ave., Tampa. 10:30 a.m.-6:30 p.m. INFO
