The Red Clay Straysโ€”a country-rock outfit from Alabamaโ€”will make you realize that maybe not all modern country music is shit.

Its sound is generally pretty bass-heavy and low-key. Take the bandโ€™s Moment of Truth album, for instance. Basically, imagine Johnny Cashโ€™s With His Hot and Blue Guitar, just mostly leaning on an acoustic bass, minus a few electric numbers.

The Strays, fresh off a set at Ft. Lauderdale’s Tortuga Music Festival, comes to Tampa this weekend, and if youโ€™re expecting to get down to music about the heartbreak of your tractor breaking down while youโ€™re slurping a Bud Light (oh, sorry: Jack Daniels), youโ€™re gonna be disappointed.

Tickets to see The Red Clay Strays play The Attic at Rock Brothers in Ybor City on Saturday, April 15 are still available and start at $20.
