Fernandina Beach-based indie-pop band Flipturn is no stranger to Tampa Bay and has been playing shows in the area for nearly all of its existence.

Back in the day, Flipturn—which shares a stage with Pearl Jam this fall for California’s Ohana Festival—churned out easy-listening teenage bops, but over the years its sound has grown into a more mature version of breezy, indie-rock; fans of Flipturn have been able to see the band itself evolve from high school seniors to post-college, twentysomethings.

A debut album, 2022’s Shadowglow, touches on themes of introspection, navigating young adulthood and the trials that come with it. The Hails, another young indie band reppin’ the Sunshine State, joins Flipturn for this Jannus Live debut.

Tickets to see Flipturn play Jannus Live in St. Petersburg in St. Petersburg on Friday, April 26 are sold-out.
