If you can’t wait for Anberlin’s upcoming fall tour with the Early November (hitting Jannus Live on Sept. 5.), 40% of the alt-rock band—Stephen Christian and Christian McAlhaney—is playing an intimate Ybor City listening room show.

Ironically, both of the musicians' names involve “Christian.” Anberlin has struggled with the perception of being a religious act mainly because, well, the Winter Haven-born outfit sort of is and signed to Christian rock label Tooth and Nail. Stephen Christian is now a pastor at Grace Family Church in Lutz. But the song “Feel Good Drag” was also number one on Billboard’s Alternative Rock charts, so I guess they’re like the Amy Grant of the 97X crowd. As a duo, Christian and McAlhaney perform songs by Anberlin as well their other projects including Anchor & Braille, Acceptance, and Loose Talk.
