Unlike his former bandmates, original Kiss (stylized “KISS”) guitarist Ace Frehley is not pumping the brakes his rock and roll lifestyle anytime soon. Last year, he released Origins Vol. 2, a mainly-covers album. And before COVID-19, Frehley—who nearly died during a 1976 concert at Lakeland’s Civic Center—would constantly rock small, intimate theaters all across the map.

Alice Cooper’s got a pretty good thing going, too. At age 73, he also tours frequently, with a little help from cheesy special effects and costume changes, as well as his backing band, featuring guitar hero Nita Strauss. Coop released all-new material earlier this year, on his latest album, Detroit Stories. And like everyone else in his field, he’s more than eager to take his new music on the road.

Last week, the Spaceman and Ole’ Black Eyes announced plans for a grand return to the stage by embarking on a co-headlining tour together. The 26-date tour stops at Tampa’s MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre on Oct. 11 (a Monday, blah) as opposed to a venue under the umbrella of Clearwater’s Ruth Eckerd Hall, of which both co-headliners have been no strangers to in recent years.

Tickets for Alice Cooper and Ace Frehley’s massive shock rock event at Tampa’s MidFlorida Credit Union Amphitheatre start at $19 before service charges.
