A medium-shot live concert photograph of mike mantione performing with the band Five Eight at Crowbar in Ybor City. Decker is centered, intensely focused, and playing an electric guitar. They are wearing a dark t-shirt with a graphic of a horned character and the text 'AMYL AND THE S...' partially visible. The stage is bathed in a dramatic, saturated green wash of light that highlights the condensation on the performer's forehead and hair. The background is dark and shadowy, with glimpses of stage equipment and venue wall texture visible in the periphery.

A year after screening its new documentary at Crowbar, Five Eight comes back to Ybor City to pay its respects to the famed venue set to close after July.

This time the Athens indie-rock giant supports a new album, Help A Sinner, released last month. Featuring contributions from Drive-By Truckers’ Jay Gonzalez (who played keys on the 12-track record), DBT producer David Barbe (who produced the album), and Matt Beck (Lisa Loeb, Matchbox 20), the LP is the band’s first in nearly 10 years and continues Five Eight’s tradition of producing some of the country’s most head-bopping, emotionally-charged power-pop.

Tampa’s greatest contribution to second-wave emo, Pohgoh, gets its last Crowbar show in at this one, too.

Tickets to see Five Eight and Pohgoh at Crowbar in Ybor City on Thursday, June 11 are still available and start at $17.
