Americana fans: break out your favorite flannel. Downtown Tampa got a nice boost of twang this morning as both Mumford & Sons and John Moreland announced Bay area dates.
Marcus Mumford and his merry bunch of English music makers will play Amalie Arena on September 20, and the icing on the cake is the addition of Carolina space-folkie MC Taylor — aka Hiss Golden Messenger. Tickets for the show — which is just one of three headlining Florida shows for Mumford & Sons — go on sale Friday, June 23 at 10 a.m. and will cost $41.25-65. \\The one this writer is really stoked on? A headlining show from Oklahoma's former patron saint of loneliness, John Moreland, who will play the impeccably quiet Jaeb Theater at Tampa's Straz Center on September 12. Moreland, 31, is fresh off the release of his fourth solo full-length, Big Bad Luv, where he's ditched the sad sappiness of 2013's heartbreaking In the Throes for a more well-rounded and in-love sound (he got married) for en effort that is likely to catapult him to stardom. Tickets for Moreland's also go on sale Friday, June 23 at 10 a.m. They'll cost you $25. More information is available via local.cltampa.com.
