It’s been less than two months since Five Eight played Tampa Bay, but the Athens-based rock elders are on a tear lately. The momentum has a lot to do with a forthcoming new album (Songs For Saint Jude) and a revealing new documentary (Weirdo: The Story of Five Eight) in which Marc Pilvinsky captures the process of Five Eight remixing and remastering its messy 1994 album Weirdo.

Bonkers Japanese punk band Pinky Doodle Poodle plays support at The Bends during what’s easily Friday night’s craziest free show.
