Atlanta band Chew (stylized “CHEW” and not to be confused with Chicago band “C.H.E.W.”)—which is no stranger—is playing a free show in Seminole Heights this Saturday.
The trio, which released its EP Darque Tan in June of this year, will be playing at Mermaid Tavern located at 6719 N. Nebraska Ave. The show will begin at “11ishishish,” according to the Facebook event.
The band specializes in creating “fuzz-laden psych,” with elements of prog and acid rock. Darque Tan includes the track “Trucker Jesus,” whose music video was as distorted and dreamlike as the song itself.
Highway Advisory Radio will be kicking the night off with a mix of jazz, sludge, and funk. Those who wear a mask to the free show will be eligible for a prize (yeah, we’re at the point in society where we have to be bribed to wear masks).
Chew w/Highway Advisory Radio. Saturday, Nov. 14, 11 p.m.-ish. No cover, masks required. INFO
