Atlanta artist Zl!ster embodies the interests of a new generation of genre-agnostic music lovers. On the surface, songs play like hip-hop, but Z meanders into indie-rock and pop, too.

That unbridled joy likely comes from the attitude Z!ster adopted after nearly dying when he smashed into a semi truck on the interstate. Some of the Bay area’s equally-joyous bands—including Pilot Jonezz and Domino Pink —open the show.

Tickets to see Zl!ster play the music hall at New World Tampa on Thursday, Aug. 28 are still available and start at $12.
