Austin Meade has been known to channel an unusual mix of influences, like Tom Petty and Judas Priest. The 31-year-old Texan’s latest EP โ€œPretty Little Waistโ€ goes contemporary enough that we just might see him at a 97X Next Big Thing by the end of the decade.

According to a press release, the record really shows off Meadeโ€™s โ€œgenre-defying mix of soulful storytelling and gritty rock and roll.โ€ A stoner fantasy, indeed. Meade last played locally last year for 98 RockFest.

Do send his year-and-a-half old sonโ€”who just had Craniosynostosis surgery, which basically enlarges the skull so the brain has enough space to properly growโ€”some good vibes, though.

Tickets to see Austin Meade play the music hall Tampa’s New World Brewery on Tuesday, March 11 are still available and start at $18.
