If any local fits the narrative of moving up north to make it big, it’s Alexis Carra.

After being accepted into Yale, the Berkeley Preparatory School graduate found herself in the touring cast of “Fosse” during her junior year of college, which led to television job offers on both sides of the camera, and eventually, a swing slot on Broadway, in some musical called “Wicked.”

Carra moved back to Tampa earlier this decade to raise a family, and though she hasn’t hit many stages since coming home, you’ll probably hear some tales of her family history and roots while she sits at her piano during this stories-and-songs power-hour.

Tickets to see Alexis Carra play New Tampa Performing Arts Center in Tampa on Friday, Jan. 17 are still available and start at $15.
