There are moments when you’re sitting on the couch, reading about some awful news and feel compelled to do something. Some answer the call, and others don’t. Travis Parker — along with friends like St. Pete Sons’ Billy Wells and Bay area promoter Rob Douglass — falls into the former category, and on Sunday he’ll be at Jannus Live helping execute a Bahamas benefit show where about two handfuls of Bay area locals (like Ella Jet & Future Soul, pictured) will raise funds for Sol Relief.
“I have known of the organization through the pilots that fly their missions and all of the work they did for recovery after hurricanes Irma, Maria and Michael,” Parker told CL. “Quite simply they do good work for immediate relief and continued relief during recovery. We’ve secured over a dozen sponsors and Bankers Financial Corp. is matching what we raise, dollar-for-dollar, up to $100K.”
This show is free to attend, and donations are encouraged.
